Tire pressure sensors - a novelty or an obligation?

First of all, it can be said that such sensors can be a big saving for the car owner. In addition to the purchase cost, which is about PLN 500-700 for a set of pressure sensors in wheels.

If you do not want to lose money on installation at the beginning, and you cannot find yourself in the intricacies of mounting sensors in tires, then let's look for a professional. Although I admit, even in my opinion, mounting sensors in tires, at least those that I have seen, is really not complicated. But I think we'll find a friend who can help us.

But let's get back to the benefits of having these little sensors in our tires.
one of the most important advantages is the economical consumption of fuel and tires. That is why they are more and more often found in the basic equipment of cars. While the reversing sensors seemed to me not a necessary detail in the car, maybe these pressure sensors are not so bad. Of course, assuming that my knowledge is based on information found on the Internet and conversations at work.

First of all, what I have read, tire pressure sensors are divided into direct and indirect. Which in abbreviated form for me means that one is mounted inside the tires and we have an almost accurate pressure measurement, and the other is mounted on the outside and then we have information about a sudden change in tire pressure.

Both of these groups of sensors are used by different drivers, I would say a different "cash" resource, because direct tire pressure sensors are more expensive than the latter.

As for the explanation of the principles of operation, it is a longer topic and I do not have such extensive knowledge for today. Let me just briefly write that the intermediate ones calculate the average pressure, so these calculations are not always up to date, or quite true. The latter, on the other hand, are more accurate, they calculate the pressure level every 1 minute, so quite often, if I understood it that way.

As it usually happens, both of these types have, apart from advantages, also disadvantages - well...

So there is a possibility of damaging the pressure sensors when removing the tires - spring: winter. The second downside may be, for example, that when the pressure in all tires drops at the same time, the device will not react.

You can look at the use of tire pressure sensors in different ways. It seems, of course, in my opinion, that the very idea, I would say, is a good one. Less fuel or tire consumption. But is that why since 2012 the European Union has been gently pushing for these sensors to be installed in our cars? I think that in addition to the practical dimension of having pressure sensors in our four wheels, it probably has a financial dimension (with high sales, high profit). Well, what to do, everyone wants to get rich, so we need news. Maybe not always practical, not always useful in the full sense of the word. However, if even one of these things would provide us with more safety, it is worth investing in these additional car accessories. The more so that with more stable tires and controlling the pressure, we can be more careful on the road, especially in difficult weather conditions.

So, in my opinion, we can invest in these sensors, if only so as not to spend our money on tires that wear out too quickly. Everything else will help us save money. It is worth looking for such sensors in online stores, there we will find prices lower than, for example, in car workshops.
